The CPC is an electrohydraulic pressure control valve system that uses a highly accurate internal pressure sensor and a PID controller to regulate steam turbine valves.
The CPC Woodward is an advanced electrohydraulic control device designed for precise turbine valve actuation. It consists of three main components: a valve-actuator assembly, a pressure sensor, and an integrated electronic control module. This system ensures accurate and responsive control of oil pressure used to operate steam or gas turbine control valves.
The CPC Woodward module accepts one or two industry-standard 4–20 mA pressure setpoint signals from a control system. It continuously compares these setpoints to the actual oil pressure measured by the internal sensor. Based on this real-time feedback, the CPC adjusts the actuator position to maintain the desired valve oil pressure with high precision. This allows for smooth turbine operation, fast response to load changes, and reliable performance even under varying operating conditions.
