Modernization Woodward Morocco

Project presentation

Here’s a look back at a project carried out for one of our customers specializing in the sugar industry in Africa. We replaced its mechanical controller (Woodward UG-40) with a Pro Act IV actuator & associated driver.

The aim of the project was to adapt the new equipment to the existing Woodward 505 controller in order to automate starting from zero speed (0 rpm) up to nominal load, and to optimize the electrical load distribution in the plant.

Project stages

As part of this modernization project in Morocco, our engineering and technical support office provided personalized and rigorous support at every stage, strictly adhering to the applicable health measures.

  1. Project study and design
From the initial stages, our team of engineers worked closely with the client to understand their specific needs and define the best technical solutions. Using advanced modeling and simulation tools, we developed detailed plans ensuring the feasibility and efficiency of the project while complying with local requirements and international standards.

  2. Manufacturing and shipping of parts
Once the plans were approved, the required components were manufactured in our workshops, both in France and internationally. Each part underwent precise quality control to ensure optimal standards. The components were then carefully packaged and shipped within the agreed deadlines, thanks to perfectly coordinated logistics, taking into account the constraints of international transport.

  3. On-site installation and commissioning
On-site, our technical experts supervised the installation of the equipment, ensuring each step was carried out according to the defined specifications. After the installation was completed, we proceeded with the commissioning process, which included thorough functional testing and tailored training for local teams. This process allowed for a smooth transition and immediate optimization of the performance of the modernized equipment.
