Normandy Nuclear Business Day

Building a strong and sustainable nuclear industry in Normandy

On June 27, 2025, Normandy Control Group had the honor of participating in the Normandy Nuclear Business Day (JANN2025), a strategic event organized by Normandie Energies, with the support of major players in the sector such as EDF and Orano. This day brought together the entire Normandy nuclear ecosystem to strengthen synergies between companies, discuss current challenges in the sector and build a forward-looking industrial dynamic.

Why strengthen the regional nuclear sector?

In France, nuclear power accounts for nearly 70% of electricity production. This sector plays a central role in the energy transition, thanks to its low CO₂ emissions and its ability to provide controllable and consistent energy. However, to meet future challenges—plant renewal, maintenance of existing fleets, and skills development—it is essential to build a strong, sustainable, and resilient regional sector.

Normandy, with its iconic nuclear facilities (Paluel, Penly, Flamanville power plants, and the fuel cycle sites at La Hague), is at the heart of this strategy. The Normandy nuclear sector benefits from a dense industrial fabric, comprised of SMEs, mid-cap companies, and large groups, working hand in hand to ensure the safety, innovation, and performance of its facilities.

Normandy Control Group’s expertise in the nuclear sector

At JANN2025, Normandy Control Group showcased its technical expertise in three key areas for the nuclear industry:

  • Speed control: Our control systems ensure the optimal operation of critical rotating machinery (turbines, generators, compressors).
  • Equipment protection: We install and maintain industrial safety solutions (vibration monitoring, emergency triggering, threshold monitoring).
  • Maintenance and reliability: In both the workshop and on-site, we work on equipment to maximize its lifespan and availability, while complying with nuclear safety standards.

Thanks to our recognized expertise in Woodward and Parker Meggitt technologies, we provide solutions tailored to the specific needs of operators and integrators in the nuclear sector.

Participation focused on listening and co-construction

This day of discussions provided our team with the opportunity to:

  • Meet with clients, subcontractors, and potential partners,
  • Identify emerging needs in digitalization, predictive maintenance, and decarbonization,
  • Adapt our service offering to the challenges of the current and future nuclear fleet.
  •

These meetings allow us to adjust our R&D priorities, strengthen our innovation capacity, and remain in line with industry expectations.
