505

Woodward’s 505 and 505E digital controllers use a 32-bit microprocessor to control industrial-sized steam turbines, turbogenerators, or turbo expanders.

Product description and features

The 505E controller is housed in a rugged industrial enclosure designed to be mounted in a system control panel located in a plant control room or near the turbine. The front panel serves both as a programming station and an Operator Control Panel (OCP). This user-friendly front panel allows engineers to program the device according to the plant’s specific needs, and operators can easily start/stop the turbine and activate/deactivate any control mode. Password protection is used to secure all programming mode settings. The two-line display allows operators to view actual and setpoint values on the same screen, simplifying operations.

The input and output wiring access is located on the lower rear panel of the turbine controller. The detachable terminal blocks allow for easy installation, troubleshooting, and system replacement.
