5009XT

The 5009XT is a standardized single extraction steam turbine controller for industrial steam turbines in reliability-critical applications. The controller uses Woodward’s field-proven MicroNet TMR® triple-redundant, fault-tolerant hardware platform, combined with Woodward’s state-of-the-art XT steam control core and algorithms.

The triple-redundant, fault-tolerant design of the 5009XT enables it to continue to ensure turbine safety in the event of a single-point failure. Modular design and hot-swappable capability ensure maximum uptime and minimize maintenance downtime for the controller. The unique PID structure of the 5009XT controller makes it ideal for applications requiring precise control of parameters such as turbine speed, load, extraction manifold pressure, inlet manifold pressure, exhaust manifold pressure or interconnecting line power.

This field-programmable controller allows users to easily modify the system configuration without calling in an OEM expert. The system can be controlled, configured, calibrated and adjusted using the optional 17” touch screen, or any workstation equipped with Woodward’s RemoteView software. RemoteView can also function as an HMI for the system, allowing operators to monitor the system, start/stop the turbine, activate/deactivate all control modes and view/reset system alarms.
